OAC just created a post about how his older V6 Monte would sound without mufflers, well I want to know if any body has tried this with their 5.3L V8 SS. If so, are there any sound clips? Thanks.

 

last year about this time at the shop we had a impala ss with a heavey rear hit were the exhaust had to come off. well we had to drive it a bit with out the exhaust. so from the cat back off. it sounded awesome. i would do a exhaust cut out before a deletion

 

My thoughts were to just cut off the mufflers, replace with pipe and weld the tips back on. Shouldn't cost a lot and I'm guessing if an SS Impala without pipe from the catback sounded good. The additional pipe coming out the back would sound even better. Hm.... I'll keep you posted.

So has any one actually done this?

 

thats not a half bad idea. it would probably help out with the actual depth of the sound. probably be deeper. definatly keep us posted. or atleast me

a guy i know did this with his 05 gxp and it sounds pretty aggresive.

 

I think I may just delete the resonator to get me by until I pick up the Magnaflow cat-back. I really do not want to be waking the dead with my exhaust system.
