Hi guys, have been following the forum for a bit now and finally decided to register. I have a 2004 SS and I was planning on several exhaust upgrades. I'm just looking for the opinions/advice of the more knowledgeable members since I am fairly new to the performance world.

Am planning on getting the parts from the Grand Prix section of zzperformance.com.

- Front PLOG and ported rear with just high temp paint. Is ceramic coating a must? What does "no core" mean anyway??

- 2.5" DP with the cat and a bung added. Do codes still pop up even with the cat? And how do I get rid of them?

- Ceramic crossover pipe

- After these, I plan on bringing it to a local shop and replacing the mufflers with something with a low, throaty sound as well as running mandrel bent 2.5" pipes throughout.

What's a rough estimate of hp gain with these mods?

- I 'might' be tempted to get rockers as well... how hard are they to put in??

Lemme know what you guys think. And please feel free to point out any silly ideas that I might have put forth!

 

No core means that you dont have to send them the part that you are replacing in order to receive that price. I head the ceramic paint was a waste of money.

Thanks! I should probably opt for the stainless steel PLOGs w/o ceramic paint then.
