yeah you could have something custom made for cheaper, or just replace certain components to improve flow.

I agree with Ted & Scott that it seems a high price : (
I would go custom & use Borla `if I had a V8 SS : )

Alright I'm bringing this thread back to life. I might take the plunge on this system. The shop around where I live says that this is worth the price because he can only get it as low as $925. Anybody know anything about this ebay seller, why so much cheaper?! I asked about a custom made system, he said he'd still go with the magnaflow system. I want the power, I want the quality, and the sound is of course a plus too. Opinions??

I had my magnaflow exhaust custom done for my Monte at an exhaust shop. I have all stainless steel pipes, two magnaflow mufflers, and a magnaflow resinator. I paid $350 for everything including install. Sounds, and looks awesome! I think the price of that kit is way high....

Thanks! Your info is really helpful. I'm gonna check more local shops to see if someone is willing to do a custom system for me. So did you see a noticeable difference in your horsepower? What size tips did you go with?

I can't say I felt a noticeable difference in horsepower with just the exhaust...however, exhaust in combo with the CAI, makes for a noticeable difference. I have 2.5 inch tips. But you might want to go bigger since you have the SS, and your bumper has cut outs for the tips...my tips had to go below the bumber, so I did not want them to look overly big since I have no cut out in my bumper....If you look at my "NEW MODS" album, you can see a pic of the rear of my car and the tips....

I think the magnaflow sounds great on my car, keep in mind I have a V6, but your V8 will sound even better! My dad had a custom magnaflow exhaust system put on his Mustang, and it sounds great...he did not put a resinator in his...but he paid around the same as me, I think it was $350 or $400...still way cheaper than the kits.

Good Luck!
