Default 1995 Z34 exhaust

I have been getting this really odd rattle in my exhaust when I take off at a moderate acceleration. If I hit the gas hard it wont make the rattle, but it also wont do it if I take off slowly.

I was wondering if it has something to do with the resonator or is it something in the muffler?

The exhaust is solid and I just want to replace the mufflers with something that has a little bit more of a rumble to them.

Anyone have a an idea about the rattle so I can change it all at one time?

hard to say without hearing it, my thought since you say it a rattle it could be a heat shield that is along the exhaust that is starting to work it's way loose,

Good idea, I should have checked sooner, I'll be out there later this afternoon checking it again.

there is a heat shield right at your resonator.

Still cant find the rattle. I'm starting to think its the resonator because I only hear it at a certain RPM level.

Anyone ever run Flowmasters on there 95 and if so what ?

I run them on my 97. As long as you keep a resonator they sound awesome. I removed mine and hate the drone, but still love the WOT sound. I will be putting a resonator back in in the future.

Definite heat shield. I had the same thing with my 95 Z34. I needed a new cat converter at that time too and when I replaced that the noise stopped. (Not too sure of the location of that shield).

Car is still running but an annoying check engine light that won't go away is really leaving me stumped. Anyone know if a faulty oil sensor on the oil pan would trigger a check engine light?

Thanks for the tip, I'll get under there again and re-check it.

Anybody ever seen or heard how well the Walker exhaust mufflers sound? Are they worth looking into getting vs Flowmasters?
