how hard is it to put headers on one of these?

 

I think having separate dual exhaust would help make it sound more like the car LSx engines- wouldn't be impossible to do either with those DT headers, as long as you didn't run a cat on it.

They do, and not in a cool way either. As much as I like the full V8 sound, I also couldn't stand the gas mileage hit driving the highways in 3rd without DOD.

 

Interesting! I had always wondered what an LS4 sounds like when the DOD engages. I'd still like to hear one in person, but this gives me somewhat of an idea.

 

according to a buddy of mine at the LS1tech forums, harder than hell, while the front may be easy ... you have to drop the engine mounts to get the back one in ...

and he said, performance wise, they were not worth the time and price involved ... besides, Doug thorley headers ( the only one that makes them ) has said, theyre not making anymore ... so youre looking at solely second hand stuff ...

and for the record ... yes without the resonator DOD does sound kind of weird, but its not that noticeable ... and lets be honest ... YOURE DRIVING AN SS ... if you cant hear it some of the time, whats the point ?

 

i didnt think they would be worth 960 bucks(atleast what they list on their site) that would be hard to drop on a set

 

the guys on tech were working on a group buy the price i believe is in the 600s on the group buy.
