When I was 14 I met my brother for the first time and he drove a 78 Monte. I got to ride in the car for the first time when he moved me from northern Wi. to southern Il. After that I was in love with the Chevy Monte Carlo. When I got my license I bought the 78 from my bro.

For me it all started back in the summer of 97 when my parents bought their first Lumina. It was a 95 and a base model but I really liked it and was comfortable with it.

Later on in 01 or 02 my parents let me drive it as if it were my own car and one day when I was talking to a friend of mine I looked at the rear end and saw that the bumper was made for dual exhaust. At the time I wanted an IROC Camaro and my friend was like just save up for the IROC. That same year in high school I saw an add for a 97 Monte Carlo Z34 and it advertised the 3.4L DOHC V6 with 215hp. All I could think was, that's about how much hp the Ford Mustang had at that time... with a V8! Then I wanted one.

So I bought a beat up 95 Monte LS in 03 and loved the car. I painted the interior and all but then I had some bad memories in it so I bought a different car. After I totalled the new car I received a phone call from a former employer who told me he knew of a Monte for sale and told me where to check it out. My Monte had under 45k miles on it in 05 so I bought it.

Since I never did buy the IROC (because I couldn't find them locally), I just made mine faster than one

when i was 17 my old man bought me a 88 307 cutlass it was a total pig i wanted a 442. he didnt want to help me put a big block in the olds so i sold it for 1200 and bought my 80 monte. it had a 400 in it for 700 bucks it was a steal. i put some headers, an intake, a carb, and duals on it with the left over cash. 11 years and 15 grand later here i am. the 06 i bought cause after building up the 400 for some street fights the 3 dollars a gallon for gas on a car that only gets 6 miles to the gallon was a bit much. that and it was the return of a v8 in the monte and what kinda monte man would i be if i didnt buy one.

I just got lucky with my 99 Z34. I wasn't looking for a monte. I just wanted a two door with leather seats at a reasonable price. The used car salesman pointed me to Z34, everything I wanted and more with only 30k miles. Test drove it and I fell in love with it.

9 years and 180k more miles later and I still love my Z34. Its been such a great car that when I started looking for something newer I just kept coming back to the montes. I really didn't want anything else but another monte carlo, so I ended up with my 2004.

Default my MC.....

...For me it was the reliability and styling that first caught my attention.....Naawwwwwwwww !
The first time I saw a MC Pace Car during a NASCAR race and then the SS model came out, well then I knew wanted to have one some day. I just had to be patient.
I like the body lines of the MC and the aggresive stance that it has.
And like Taz's Plate says....." I Bite ". True, it's not a big block Chevy with a monster 454 under the hood but it's a nice piece
of Americana.........and affordable !

I wanted a 2 door car, something decent on gas but also had good power.

I started looking around and found my MC.

I took it for a test drive and instantly I fell in love with the car, signed some papers and got the car the next day.

Look and size of the car for me. I really didn't want another Grand Prix.
