we were shopping for a newer family car and I wanted a grand prix or Impala. I didnt want another car with a 3.4(replaced 2 sets of LIM on my van) so the Impala was not high on the list. The lot we were at just had a huge sale so they were kinda low on inventory and a lot of the cars were still at the sales location. the salesman said he had a perfect family car for us he took on a trade. A low miles aurora that was tan. We seen two of them with old people driving them on the test drive. When we got back to the lot I we seen the Monte and I said I'll take that go get the keys. We test drove it and signed the papers. I picked it up the next day.

I had owned two montes previously and they gave me no problems. I was attracted to the Deuce becuse of the new lines of the front end, the upgrade in the interior and the V8

Besides that she winked at me and told me to take her home

Our family had a 95 Z34 and I really liked how that car drove and the pickup that car had. So that's how I came to know these cars. It lasted until February 2012 and we had to get rid of it.

I started to really dislike the MC's during 2000-2005 model years. No offense to anyone but I really couldn't stand that five year stretch of MC's they made. The rear bumpers were too big for my liking, the trunks had an ugly hump and the front just didn't appeal to me at all either.

When I was ready to buy a car I knew how much I could spend and I looked into the 06's and 07's. I loved the new front end and rear end that was redesigned. It was subtle but to me the car looks a lot different than the 6th generations. The car was sitting in the showroom with 18,000 miles on it and it had my name on it. I also loved the fact that the car has the V8 although I sometimes wish I had power coming from the rear wheels instead and I do wish I had a six speed transmission. I was looking into the Pontiac G8 GT's a few months ago but I am still enjoying my 06 SS.

Bought my 85 beign a bit more than slighly used, it was a friends car and he drove it in the winter and couldn't even do a burn out in it..(idk why) He hit a pole and was looking to unload it, but i loved the lines of it the long sweeping lines and i just looked mean! picked it up for $400 bucks and well now it sits in peices becuase it needs work,

after joining i was intrigued by the newer versions, especially 6th gen as they brought back the long swooping lines, the verticle style tail lights kind of like the 4th gen, and lets not forget the"nascar" inspired spoiler (stand up on 4th gen)

was car shopping for a 5th gen becuase it was in the budget, all while keeping an eye out for 6th gens and i wasn't having much luck at all, getting discouraged i stated branching out to other 3800 powered cars but nothing stuck out at me or was that good of a deal, and was SICK OF SMALL CARS last 3 cars where escort, mystake, saturn

on the way home from running around one morning i decided to just pull into a lot i had seen acouple of Mc's in so drove to the back of the lot and they where, Both the 5th and 6th gen gone! so was just going to leave, i wasn't even going to pull to the front of the building but for some reason i did...

That is when i spotted it
01 Pace Car sitting right next to the front door,
i stop in front of it and just staring at it.. i was like wel i gatta atleast look at it, so i hop out check it over a bit, man she's clean, 138k and just under $6k
the sales man comes out and talks with us a little bit, nothing pushy, wasn't really trying to sell us it, more or less shooting the breeze, real nice guy(a good car sales man IHMO)
but it was out of our price range so we start heading home(like 5 min away)
and we are talkign about it and i say if they did financing i would have walked in there and tried to get it, amy goes they do,
got home i himmed and hawed a little not knowing if i would be approved or not, amy says go grab our money out of the safe and lets go back, worst thing they can say is no

grabbed the 3k we had in the safe and headed back, the salesman is still outside lol,
ask back already huh, i told him i need to atleast take it for a test drive

needless to say we sighned the papers, we where approved, and i am loving every min of it

bought mine in march of last year. it had 50,000 on it.

iv always liked them. idk why, just have. lol

i was trying really hard to get a new Challenger. came very close, but the insurance was ungodly.

i didnt even want to look for another car. i was set on a Challenger. so i fell back on something that iv always liked. found it on autotrader. i didnt like it. i didnt want a white car, side trim or a spoiler. there was a laser blue 7th gen ls about 30 minutes away. i had decided on it because it was newer. ended up going to check out the white one and saw that it was metallic (which i liked) the lot was closed and the car was unlocked. we all know what that means. PRETEND ROADTRIP!! the second i sat on the leather seats, i was sold. it was and still is perfect (for me atleast)

13,000 miles later, still love it. still no regrets. still no intentions of selling. im keeping it forever

So you got the Monte as a family car? I wish I could convince my fiance a coupe was a family car!

Glad to hear it all worked out! The guy we've always been family friends with and who is my mechanic was searching for a newer grand prix awhile ago. He is 52 years old and figured insurance wouldn't be too terrible on the v8 models. Needless to say he about fainted when he got an insurance quote on one, so he ended up witha good ol 3800 powered one. White Montes are rare around here its always a treat to see them. I usually don't care for white but for some reasons on Montes I love it.
