Whine coming from stereo ONLY when car is running.
I know what it's like being a broke college student lol. It won't hurt anything to run it like that, I did for a few months when I had the problem because I wasn't sure how I was going to fix it yet. This issue isn't covered under warranty for any reason because it's avoidable by unhooking the battery before installation like the manual says, and I don't remember what Pioneer charges for the repair. If you send it in though, expect to be without a headunit for a month.
If you can solder well or know someone that can, taking apart the headunit is pretty easy, and buying a resistor is super cheap. Like litterally less than a nickle if you can find somewhere to buy just the one you need. I ended having to buy a pack of like 1500 resistors for $12 because I couldn't find the right one individually.

Thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate it. When I go to my parents house this weekend I will try to do what that picture looks like. Being I live in an apartment complex and dont have any warm place to do it (Darn Minnesota winters). I trust you that it works, but I am just curious as to HOW that works lol.
When that pico fuse blows, your RCAs aren't properly grounded anymore. Basically, you're grounding the outer barrels of your RCA plugs. What you're doing is taking the bare wire and wrapping it around the RCA plugs as well as you can and then attaching the wire to a screw on the case of your headunit. The case of your headunit is a ground, and it should eliminate a lot of the noise.

So I am back at my parents place where i actually have a heated garage to look into my problem. And I could not find any spots throughout all of my wires that was faulty. So i ended up pulling out my headunit and trying what you suggested. At first i was very sceptical being that my headunit is a 6-channel and I only had one ground spot on the headunit itself that u could screw the wire into. I ended up completing the "fix" you told me to try and reconnected my battery....What do you know! the whole problem was fixed! I cannot believe that some speaker wire that I have had laying around for years could fix such a spendy problem. I guarantee that I would have never have been able to fix this problem on my own. You have saved me $350 dollars in repairs by not replacing my headunit. I am so thankful for people like you that are willing to take their time out of their lives to help other people in need. Thank you! I owe you BIG TIME!
I know! It happened to me on two Pioneer decks. Heck, I bought the second one to replace the first when it blew. I couldn't afford to replace the 880PRS at the time and didn't wanna wait to send it in and get it fixed, so I had to learn to fix it myself.
