Default What speed will my Monte govern out at?

Hi, I have a 2004 Monte SS that isn't supercharged. I was wondering what mine would govern out at? Also, what is the easiest way to remove the governor?

They usually fall on their face around 112, but it's bad to run it hard in 4th without ruining your trans.

You don't remove the limit on these cars, you just tune the PCM and set the limit at 255mph

Chibi is correct my 04 goverened around 112mph when it was stock. I have the pcm tuned to not shut down till 255mph now lol. Quickest I've had mine was around 145mph but like chibi said this is horrible on the 4th gear. 3rd maxes around 120-130 so stay in that range lol. BTW a stock Monte won't go 145mph I am highly modded

With OBD2 tuning software.

DHP PowrTuner and HPTuners are the best for us.

Ok, I'll be the first to say it. Why do you need to go over 112? Track racing, I assume?

I want to say I had my 04 Dale Jr up to 120 once but that's the fastest I ever got it. My 98 S-10 that I used to have cut off at 92 (believe it or not, it is possible to get that gutless 4 banger to that speed, it just took several miles to do it hahaha), the 96 GMC Sierra I had cut off at 98 (and with that Vortec 350 it got there quickly), and I honestly don't know what speed my Suburban cuts off at as the speedometer only goes to 85 but I know I've had it well over 90 before. Took forever to get there but it did LOL. I definitely had my lead foot days but with gas as high as it is I don't drive nearly as much anymore (or nearly as fast for the most part)

So if my dad has an OBD2 scanner, will I be able to do it with that? And I need to go over 112 because sometimes I feel the need to push my car to the limits.
