been using Castrol gtx Hi-Mileage part synthetic with a Fram Tough Guard filter....been great and because I change the oil so often, keeps my engine cleaner! (no sludge AT ALL when i pulled the valve covers off last summer!)

i would agree with you that there is probably a marketing technique in the NAMING of it, but what you are really paying the extra money for is the extra steps taken in the refinement, as well as the additives added to make the oil less viscous, thereby increasing the engine lubrication properties

Went from Redline 15-50 to AMSOIl 15-50. It appears the independent reviews really favored the AMSOIL over Redline. And since my engine is on the extreme end of the performance spectrum, I really want to try to provide it with a fighting chance when it's wrapping out at the fringes of the power levels.

It's a 15,000 mile oil, I will probably only do 5,000 on it and the AMSOIl filter is a 25,000 mile filter.

Since I just got my 01 it has regular oil in it, and I have a free oil change as part of the deal, after that I will go with Mobil 1 extended life oil and a good oil filter. My other two cars run M-1 with the Pontiac Fiero I have having over 232,000 miles on the original motor.

I use K&N, M-1 and the new Bosch long distance oil filters.

I agree with the video about high mileage oil. My Monte has just over 68,000 miles on it.

Haven't changed the oil in the Monte yet since I just got it, but when I do, will definitely be Mobil 1 or Valvoline. I use WIX filters on everything I drive. Used Fram for a lot of years, but their quality went way downhill over the past 10 years.
