Use Redline 15-50 as thats what my mechanic wanted to use. Next oil change going to AMSOIL, have read so much good about it.

Use the NAPA Gold filter (WIX) going to NAPA Platinum next change.

Don't drive it enough to worry about the high cost of an oil change but about 2 times a year.

I find Walmart to have the best oil prices- I just bought Royal Purple a lot less then auto stores,
Mobil 1 and just about every other oil was cheaper there ---filters also.

Valvoline Full Synthetic 10/30. Why? Because I've been using Valvoline oil for over 30 years and have never had an engine failure due to a lubrication problem. I tried other oils (Pennzoil, Quaker State, Castrol, etc) and always had problems with low oil pressure and lack of adequate top end lubrication - right after an oil change. Dumped the Castrol and refilled with Valvoline and the oil pressure immediately built to 40 lbs (versus 20 lbs with the Castrol. The top end immediately quieted down.

Oil filter? K&N HP. Testing has shown their filters trap more contaminates then any other filter on the market.

Edit: Pricing - I purchase the 5 quart jug. I pick it up when it's on sale for anywhere between &24 and $28. The filters run between $10 $ $12.

I'm using Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30 in both the 2013 and the Monte Carlo. Use a wix oil filter on each too.

It's got the DEXOS approval, and tested a little better than mobil 1 when i was reading a breakdown on bobistheoilguy

I use Mobil 1 Extended Performance (the gold cap one). Mobil 1 is the only oil I put in my car.

As far as the filters go, I'm not quite as brand loyal on filters. But I always go for the good ones. I've used AC Delco a few times, but more often than not, I use a Mobil 1 filter (Autozone runs a deal for 5 quarts of gold cap mobil 1 and a mobil 1 filter for like 34 bucks), I've also used the Fram Xtra Guard (the gold one that cost like 10 bucks), K&N and maybe twice a Wix. Most used, probably the Mobil 1 filter.
