ive been told that "ROYAL PURPLE SYNTHETIC OIL" is actually "bad" for your car
my mechanic advised me to use Castrol Fully Synthetic...

2001 SS 3.8L V6. Black on black leather all options blah blah blah, probably the best car I've ever had for trips and winter driving, plus it gets plenty of looks. I also own a 93 (4th gen) red firebird formula 5.7L LS1 V8 which will eat most mustangs alive, has a couple packages that make it pretty rare (won't go into that).

I'm thinking about getting a remote start, tinting the windows and then moving up from there when I get more cashflow.

As for the guy that said he could never go back to a V6, I understand the feeling but they still have their uses gas mileage wise IMO.

Not sure what kind of oil I should use in the 3.8l though. I've heard a lot of bad things about the transmission in this car, so if you guys could cheer me up on that, that would be great. Maybe some stories of no transmission problems...?

Cool

Had a new '02 SS, 3.8 liter 200 hp, white, custom painted galaxy silver ground effects & my signature pinstripe, galaxy silver "Monte Carlo" script logos, ebony leather interior, and fully loaded. Like a dumb-a** I traded it in on an '05 Colorado. Still trying to figure out why.

Had a new '06 SS, 5.3 liter 303 hp, white with silver ground effects & my signature pinstripe, "Intimidator" logos, ebony leather interior, and fully loaded. Again, I was a dumb-a** and traded this one in on an '08 Cobalt Sport when gas was pushing $5/gallon. @#$%!!!

Now own a new/used '07 SS, 5.3 liter 303 hp, white w/ silver ground effects, racing stripes, my signature pinstripe, & "Intimidator" logos, light grey leather interior(couldn't find one with ebony leather that was in good shape- long, long story), and fully loaded. NEVER getting rid of this car!!!
