I'm currently Monte-less now too.

This afternoon while I was doing errands, I got a Passlock warning light. But the car started. About an hour later while at Staples, I go to start the car and nothing. Dash and radio lights up, but no starter, no solenoid click, nothing. Just a flashing Passlock light.

After yelling a couple words I can't post here, I tried a couple tricks that sometimes get the car started. No luck. Get on the cellphone, call a towtruck to get the car towed to a dealership. As soon as I get off the phone, it started. Immediately drive it to the dealership to get the stupid Passlock problem fixed. By the time I get it there, it's 3:00. So they have to keep it over night, and work on it tomorrow.

I hereby change the name Passlock to Pain-in-the-***-lock. The only people it prevents from starting the car is stranded owners. Thieves have no problem getting past Passlock.

Edit: since I was at Staples, I did try pressing the "easy" button. Didn't help. lol

Haha! the passlock got me a few times...Once it got me stuck at my fiancee's job. after a few nasty swears & screams I decided to jiggle the ignition cylinder while on the 'start'...heard a nasty spark and she started right up. Ever since the light came on once, but no problems..

Drove the monte to work & back.

Got the Monte back from the dealership yesterday. Stupid crappy passlock. Replaced the passlock sensor -- $490. Diagnostic fee -- $110. Labor (actual part replacement) -- $110

Getting shafted by the passlock system -- pain in the ***.

This is actually the second time since I owned the car that the passlock left me stranded in a parking lot somewhere.

WoW, that's very sad & expensive 4-Sure Did the 1st time cost as much ? I think that you are just going to have to trade it on a new Mustang & we can change the name of our forum to the Mustang/Carlo/Forum since we have member's that have been jump'in ship since Chevy does not produce a updated/new Monte Carlo ~>

Hey Taz / Red nightmare Check with your local Car stereo shops a local 1 made me a relay with the matched resister that completely defeats pASS lock in our Monte it cost me $150 to have it done back in the spring of 2010 and I have never had a problem with my Monte after that with the Pass Lock system .

All I did to it today was drive it. After a weeks worth of headache vehicles, it's nice to just be able to drive your own with no issues.
