weird brake problem
So when I am driving d own the road and I hit my brakes there is a clicking noise and at night my lights flicker real quick. Any ideas what could be the problem? Its annoying me since me and my friends can not figure out the problem.

what year / trim level is your car, and if its a 95- 99 does it have rear drum brakes or 4 wheel discs?
i would check to make sure the lugnuts are tight on all 4 wheels first thing, but otherwise it could be a stone stuck in the wheel / brake drum / caliper somewheres... worst case scenario its a warped rotor....
idk about the lights flikering, is it your brakelights, headlights, guage lights...? i know 95-99 montes can have the turn signal swich go bad & it can cause the brakelights to malfunction ( i've had it happen)

well, if its a 3.1 car it should have the rear drum brakes, check and make sure there is not a stone cought in the dust sheild or something... and again, check that the wheel lugs are tight, the lugs on my 97 ls were backing off & it mate a ticking kinda sound...
as for the brakelights, the easyist wat to tell if the swich is bad is if it locks into place when you use the signal or if you need to fiddle with it for the signals to work... again, my 97 had a bad swich, and scince the rear turn signals & brakelights work off of the same bulb, my brakilights would cut out without warning, i had to flick the turn signal lever up quick before i braked so my lights would work
i got it fixed, i found out advanced auto has the swich without the whole lever for $65-70, and it takes a couple of hours to install, if you dont have acess to a sterring wheel puller & some other special tools you should have it done at a shop...
