Used Owner
I guess there IS a forum for everything.
Hi im mikey im now the proud owner of a white '95 monte carlo z34
i bought it outright for 1500$ and now im on a mission to restore it and put it back in proper running order maybe a few mods not sure yet....i was hoping a few of you would be able to help and point me in the right direction.
first things first.
problems:
the left front rim pins were sheered off during a drive from chicago to cincinnati(previous owner) i had the rim and axle replaced and is working fine...the rim and tire are different make and model than the set i have on...will this have any bearing on my gas mileage or my alignment? there is some damage to the front wheel well
my brake lights arent working! the turn signals work fine and my parking lights are out as well....but my center trunk brake light works fine? can anyone help with this? is there any thing i can do?!...my brakes are a bit worn down...i think i need new pads...would that have anything to do with it? i know that sounds stupid even for a noob
is there somewhere i can order replacement parts? is it possbile to convert my rear drum brakes to disc brakes?
id like to put in a navigation system are there any problems youve encountered that i should know about?

hey, welcome to the site
have you tried changing out the bulbs for the brake lights??? could just be a bad bulb...i know usually the signal and the brake are on the same bulb but they're dual filiment bulbs so they could be on their way out...but since its both gone @ the same time i would take a look @ the fuse for the brakes, the worn down brakes have nothing to do with the lights not coming on, its not going to be the stop light switch because the 3rd brake light works...
good luck

Your Monte sounds like a nice car. Have you posted any pictures of it for us to look over? We love car pics.
Wiz gave you some good advice on the brake light problem.
As for the alignment issue the only way this would be an issue would be say, the replacement rim was bent, the parts used to replace any damaged parts your car had were damaged themselves and possibly the replacement tire was a different size compared to the size on the opposite side of the car.
