Upgrade from the LTZ -> SS ?
Hey guys I currently own a 2006 white monte carlo LTZ with 59,000 miles on it. Before I owned this car I owned a 2003 blue monte carlo SS. To be honest; I seriously miss the whole feeling of having an SS. I feel like i got downgraded from my last car (Some woman ran a stop sign and totaled my SS 2 months back). Ive been thinking about selling the LTZ and upgrading to the SS, in my opinion the SS just looks so much nicer and it just looks like the car that i would love. Not to say i don't love my LTZ, i get stopped all the time by people saying how nice it is and how good of shape it is in. (some old man i bought it from used to bring it to car shows) But the only thing about buying the SS is... Im 18- I have college to pay for, i just don't know if its a good idea to buy the 5.3 v8 2006 SS and spend more money that i may (most likely WILL) need! Maybe i should wait until later in life who knows. But i just wanted to ask all you guys with the SS' out there if it really shows that much of a difference and if its really worth it to purchase one right now? thanks for your opinions guys i really appreciate it!

I can't speak to whether it is a good financial decision, since most nice cars really do not make financial sense. You also have to take into account that you should use premium gas with a 5.3.
As far as the car goes, my 2007 SS is so much superior to either the 2000 SS I had or the 2011 Impala LTZ that my wife currently drives. The feel and the sound of the 5.3 when you push down on the petal takes me back to driving a 70's muscle car that actually can handle a corner. For me, having a V-8 under the hood is worth skimping in other areas if you're really a car guy.
Do yourself a favor and find a 2006 or 2007 SS to take a test drive. You'll understand the difference after the drive.
