I considered it too. I may do that this summer. Get some vinyl dye and spray the SS letters red. Still deciding whether to go with Victory Red (body color), or the orange-red of the SS badges on the exterior of the car.

If you do, please post pics. I think that would look really sweet in either shade of red.

I think you should go with the body color, it will kind of look like the letters show through from the trunk. You only really pop the trunk to show the car, and people will notice it when it matches the body color more than when it matches a smaller logo.

Like if you pop your trunk at a car show, people may wonder why it doesn't match, and you would have to point out the fact that it matches the SS's not the body color.

Very good point. I think I'll do the body color then. Besides, it should be easier to color match the body color than the SS badges.

Cool. I got me my first project for this year.

I feel it depends. On the car color.

Taz, you may want to go with body color or your car. But for us that wouldn't make any sense? So vinyl dyeing a color close to the small "SS" symbols used on the car is a better choice.

[sm=smiley11.gif]well this trunk lid is exahusting hehe but i think i will be well worth it as of right now i have the SS already to go wut i did is made a cut out of the letters and used about a little over an inch of foam so they can stand out a good size after the vinyl is streched over the lettering so im just hoping it will be enough..... im just wonder what would be a good material to use for the main dog bone shape? im kinda stumped on wut to use

And actually I then glued balsa wood around the edge to give me something to staple the fabric into, but I wouldn't recommend it because the balsa was too soft and didn't hold the staples well.
