here is my advice since i am finishing my top swap this evening....
get an L67 out of a W body, there is an upper engine mount bracket on the passenger side that you WILL NEED but does not come in any other cars but W bodies. the other models have a side motor mount that is NOTHING like the W bodies (monte carlo, grand prix, regal) and will not work at all. This bracket also incorporates the coil pack mount and tensioner pulley and ribbed idler pulley for the s/c belt. The bolts for the coil pack is different than your stock bolts, you will need to drill out the old threads and use your current coil pack bolts if you use your current coil packs and ICM. The bolts are thread cutting and will retap the hole you drill.
upgrade/replace ALL PULLEYS
there is a vacuum port right behind the throttle body, be VERY CAREFUL as it is very very easy to break because it will most likely be old and brittle and its only available at the dealer or from a junk yard.
if the engine has sat in the weather for a period of time, replace all the vacuum lines as well.
for the injector connectors, just go to the junk yard and cut them off of a late 90's, early 2000's GM 3100 or 3400. monte carlo, grand prix, grand am, alero, etc… they should be free.99
also grab a extra map sensor plug off those same cars, the connector is the same as the L67 and you may need an extra.
replace fuel injector o rings, its cheap and easy to do. You don’t want a car fire.
Check/replace the L67 harmonic balancer. They are known problems and especially if it has sat in the weather I am sure there is some dry rott.
Replace valve cover gaskets, certainly don’t want another chance at a car fire.
You do NOT need a new super charger pulley, though it is a “safe” idea. As long as you have a tuner you should be fine.
If you have a tuner, tune out the EGR and leave it off of the car, unless you live in a state that has emissions testing.
Buy headers NOW so you don’t have to deal with it later, it is MUCH easier to install them now than later, MUCH easier.
Replace the plastic coolant elbows with the aluminum ones. They can be found in the “Help!” section at most parts store for like $8.
the pics below were taken on saturday night right after i put the s/c on and before i had done anything else for wiring or vacuum etc...
