Alternative to topswap
3800 Supercharger Conversion Kit | Super Charger Kits | 3800 Supercharger Kit
I came across this kit at zzp. I was wondering If I can get away without getting the heads and such. I gotta talk to zzp and see if i can get only some parts. I can get the rest. My other question is why do you need the heads?

Only time you need heads is if you are doing a real top swap- which is what I would strongly recommend. Sure, the install is harder, but you can do it for a fraction of the cost. I've seen full top swap setups go for $250.

Another advantage of a normal topswap is that you know you have good head gaskets. Also if you drop pulleys it makes easier to buy canned tunes.
I sell topswap kits(minus tune) for $600
You don't need to buy L67 heads for the ZZP SS kit- that's most of the point of the kit is a slightly easier install (all needed parts are included with the kit). However, you pay through the nose for it ($1600!!)- you could easily get a whole L67 for that. Plus, then you're stuck with their oddball pulley setup to run the supercharger off the accessory belt (where you can't go below a 3.4" pulley).

That's not including gaskets- just parts only. Usually from just random people on the forums selling off their old setups when they chunk a piston, or swap in a built engine or something along those lines.
