Space, you know my opinion. You buy what you like and you enjoy it.
I don't have much money and the 17K the car cost me asa certified used car would not get me any other 06 or 07 model that would make me happy.
Sure you could buy a Toyota, been there done that!

Why was the monte on the list? Dated, dated, dated design and platform. I like the lines on the car (ala 1970's). But at some point you have to step up to the plate with a quality product. Now I'm not saying that they are problematic or anything. I haven't had one problem yet with mine. However, for the same amount of money I could say have the quality of a honda or toyota. These days people have families and a 2 door just doesn't figure into that equation. Also GM doesn't advertise for the monte. When was the last time you seen a commercial for one? Just my .02 worth.

Also, ifI'm not mistaken people had families back in the 70's and 80's when coupes where everywhere! I remember having to do the very complex task of pushing the back of the seat forward to get in the back of my mom's '79 Monte, then again in her '84Regal, and wouldn't you know I had to do the same in her '87 Cutlass. That's probably considered child abusein today's world. [sm=outcold.gif]
[sm=sorry.gif]Sorry if I went off on a little tangent here, I'm just passionate about my Monte!
No offence to anyone!

2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LT 2dr Coupe w/3LT (3.9L 6cyl 4A)
Review
After a year and a half of driving this car, I have mostly good things to say about this car. GM seems to have improved their build quality over the past few years of Monte Carlos. I have had no mechanical problems whatsoever. I love the strong pulling V6, decent gas mileage, and the 8 speaker audio system.
Favorite Features
240 hp V6, MP3/ipod compatible audio system, dual exhaust
Suggested Improvements
Bigger instrument panel
