Default Temp Variation

My 2000 SS temp runs halfway up gauge normally, last few days (96 degrees here in San Jose CA,) so I have been running my A/C, gauge drops to roughly 3/4, I'm assuming the cooling fans run constantly when A/C is on.

Right/ wrong?

Thanks
Malcolm

Half way is fine. Not sure the actual temp reading though. Mine runs under half and is 180 average. But I have a 180 tstat and tuned fans to come on quicker. I thing stock run around 195-200

Stock thermostat is 195, stock fan temp is 212, halfway point on the gauge is ROUGHLY 195 (the analog gauges aren't completely accurate).

You are correct in assuming that the fans are running because of the AC, as long as your temps stay under 220 you are good to go!
