I don't think they are overly rare but its moreso hard to find them now that don't leak. They are for sure a nice feature

every t-top car ive ever been in leaked. especially fox mustangs(with exception of ls1 cars). id be prepaired to change the seals and check for rot up there. i think all the t-top g body cars are rare. i believe that the 3rd gen with t-tops is harder to find then the 4th though.

I tryed finding out the numbers man and had no luck. Ive been lookin since 07 when I got my t-top Monte.
I paid 1800 for my rust bucket. I almost didnt buy it. I thought I was goin to buy a hard top and it turned out to be a t-top that sat in the woods forever. I love the car now and wouldnt want it without the t-tops.

If anyone finds the production numbers I wanna know too.

They used to be widely available around here back in the day. But they were the most stolen vehicle for a while. So I'm thinking a lot of them ended up in chop shops. I haven't seen a T-top 4th gen around here in many, many years.

I tend to agree with that assessment. There seemed to be a lot more T-top cars (not just the Montes) back in the day, but not as many seem to have survived. This is all very unscientific of course, but I'm just going by what I see.

I love T-Tops. My '84 Z28 in the garage has T's (and that was a BIG part of what got me to buy it). My wife has a '01 convertible Mustang, and it's just not the same (that and it's not a sweet F-body). My T's did have a period where the leaked, but I got it resolved.
I wish T's were still offered. I think how sweet my '04 Monte would be with T-Tops... DROOOOOLLLL!!!!

As stated before, I would check it good for rot. I bought an 85 I think for a parts car and the whole center was ate up.

look for rot on the roof & floorboards. most T-tops leak some bad some not so bad its just the way it is. Ive had a lot of T-top cars & I love them. My 76 has T-tops & I wouldnt have it any other way.
