:( summer maintnance
I got the chevy free diagnostice for summer in the mail,
I took my car in and they told me I need a trans flush and power steering flush at 60,000 miles
They said my power steering is real dark and should be done first
and they said I should get new tires, I have had my wheels and tires a little over 2 years I believe, so I need to visit Discount tire
I am glad I know what I need so my summer driving this season will be pleasant, But blows because gonna have to prioritize my budget,
I have my stock wheels and tires still so I can use those if I want, But I am gonna need tires for the nice wheels.
My friend at pep boys said he can do my trans flush for $90 and my power steering for $35
the dealership told me a trans flush was 160 glad I don't get anything done there unless it may be a oil change on speacial or a free check up.

Dealerships are the effing Devil and I've never given much credence to what they say. you're almost always better off taking your ride to the little garage down the street for honest diagnostics and a better rate on parts and labor. they're the lesser of 2 evils
Geez Patrick, with all those problems I'm amazed your car still runs.
The dealership I go to has one of those little white plastic trays with samples of all the different fluids. They put a drop of each fluid from your car into the tray next to the good sample. They do this infront of you so you know they're not cheating by using old fluid from some old beater out back.
It does sound like an aweful lot to have go bad at the same time.
I would definitely get a second opinion on the necessity of all that work.

You guys are right, I went to my buddy at pep boys who is in my car club and he said I don't need to flush my car at all yet,
I will ask him if he can do that test of the colors from the liquids in front of me, that is a good tip
I had gotten the diagnostic for free and know not to do anything there at the dealership, I just wanted to make sure my power train was ok.
Tires I am thinking about nitto 420's or neo gen tires only thing I am not a fan of nitto's tread design but that is what makes their tires good so we will see. If anybody has nitto tell me if they are good or not and your opinion on them.
