I've wanted to add the front brace to my car forpretty much a year now. With the money my parents just gave it is a do-able thing.

Keep us posted.

What do the braces do? I know it improves handling and such, but how does it do it? I never really understood that.

DRCUSTOMPARTS.COMis who sells the brackets and he has a link there that shows the braces. What theymakeit more solid, and don't allow as much body roll. People say the rear one is more important then the rear one on our cars because the engineweighthelps while the back in just back there. But forfront and rearbraces it's onlylike $22.00. The brackets themself are $65.00 for a pair.

Will these STB fit an '06/07 Monte?

According to the GM Parts Direct web site part 12456148 is for a 1999 - 2002 Monte with V6 engine.

They help the top of the car from leaning into the turn. When you are taking a left hand turn hard for instance, the top of the car will actually twist a bit into the turn and the upper portion of the car will lean to the right. The braces help stabalize this dramatically.
