Default strut tower braces

alright they arrived today. i had no idea it was both front and rear package (which is sweet) so i have both braces. the PN is 12456148 and comes with instructions on how to mount them. the front ones mount without having to remove the struts, BUT do require you to drill holes (it has a cutout you put on and shows ya where to drill the holes) rear one you have to remove the struts (ick) and drill holes as well.

BUT this link i jacked from another thread http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_p...&catid=138 you can buy these to avoid drilling holes

here's a couple pics of what they look like. and looks like they'll fit my MC

and what it would look like installed. kinda hard to see but it's still got the big friggin GM part tag on it.

hope this helps for you guys thinking of doing this. i'll be prob. buying the brackets from zzperformance. and i'll throw a post up once they're in.

Thanks for posting these pics with the part number. I have been looking for these for ages but they aren't "excatly" what I was looking for. I thought they were a direct connection where you removed the 3 strut bolts and hooked it up.

This saves me a ton of agrivation.

Once again thanks for the info as I really appreciate it!!!

3800performance does make the ones you are talkin about where you have to remove the 3 bolts. They come in either black or red.

Installed some of these when I had my '04 Impala SS. They came standard on the Police Package Impala's, but not on regular production units (including SS models). You'll notice an improvement in hard cornering. I had to slightly enlarge the mounting holes on the rear unit to get it to fit. Good mod for the price.
