Default Stock Or Custom?

i got a original 72 monte carlo or close to it, the only things that were done to it was rebuild some parts but nothing added in like a stereo system or anything like that. i was wondering isince there is no radio (has stock one but doesn't work) if i mounted one in the glove box or under the dash would i lower the value? also is it better to keep stock or go custom? i dont want to go crazy and chrome everything out and take it to shows 24/7 and try to win its just a personal car that i may or may not sell later in life

Default RE: Stock Or Custom?

you can do the stereo that way if you would like or you could also get a bit crazy and put a center councel in it if it dont already have one. When i did mine i took seats out of a cadalac and made them fit right in it and it was a nice ride with the 60/40 split bench then i cut my dash for a afgter market deck but i used a donar car and took the dash out of it to do it . So i was not cuttign a org. dash to the car. but honestly after i sold the car the kid just threw the dash away any way. You need to decide weather or not to restore it true to the stock form or to modify it or go nuts. I chose modifeyed with mone i put the 396 motor out of a old wrecked elcamino in mine and built the hell out of it then i also had put lowering spindals and spring in the front to drop it about a inch, then i added rear air shocks to it so i could take it out and rrace it if i wanted to with out worry of scraping tires on it. It had center line stars all the way around it with 60's on front and 50's on the rear.
I loved the car but the ex @!#%#$^ got it in the break up.
It was painted mid night blue with a black 1/4 top and a sun roof on it.

But i didnt cut in to the body any where. to get completly crazy and it could be changed back to stock when it was wanted.
