Sticking up for the Monte Carlo's
My fiance has owned a couple of M3s and currently has an 07 335i and it's cool, but I wouldn't want to fix one if something went wrong with it. It's still under warrant but I don't know for how long. So I'll take my Monte or another newer American pony car.
i dont like the interior of them, they are sexy on the outside, but i wont buy one if i had the chance, i am more into American cars. but i have always got gripe from others who drive high end cars that talk about my Monte, but i love my car, and dont want anything else, that is not American
why yes, yes it is. lol, but it has Chevorlet, which is an American car company, for most parts, so that is what i meant, ha! i heard the originator of Chevorlet was not American....

BMW = If you go to the shop, be prepared for BIG bills. That's all I've heard from anyone that has one and has to get a shop to fix them when they brake.
I know one guy that bragged about how much better constructed he felt BMWs were compared to all the other GMs and Fords, yet his BMW has been in a shop a LOT for big cost repairs.
There are a LOT of cars I'd like over my Monte (like the '84 Camaro I want to restore in my garage). But, it comes down to cost of the car, where I am in life. Out of many cars I can afford to own, the Monte ranks #2 of my favorites (#1 being the 3rd gen Camaro). I feel that says a lot about how much I like my Monte.

I've on occasion ran into people who look down on me and the things I do, such as still using a '94 Grand Am with 210,000 miles, and I do wrench on it myself to save money and keep it around. They rather make fun of me for it when they are living as someone else's dependent (where as, I am living independent). It's frustrating someone who does not have life figured out, no realistic bills to think less of me for doing as much as I can with what I got.
Granted, these days, I have a Camaro I still wish to restore, none of the cars between the wife and I in our driveway have a payment and as long as that Grand Am stays running, I park the Monte for the winter. So far, I don't think I'm doing to badly
