Hey Guys,

Recently I've noticed that the top half of my steering wheel has started to crack. Is there any way to fix this without getting a steering wheel cover and/or replacing the steering wheel? Also, bits of it come off on my hands if it is very humid outside. I have some close-up pics below. Any advice is welcome.

 

Besides replacing I don't know how to fix.

If you want a cover you should look into the wheelskins cover

 

x2 the WheelSkin idea. The "foam" wheel is crap (my Grand Am started doing a similar thing, Wheelskin-ed it and never looked back).

I think you can get a Wheelskin around $45, far cheaper then a new wheel. And they are REAL leather!

 

This is why I'm glad I've got a leather wheel. Although I do have foam on the sides and that's cracking.

I agree with everyone, get a wheelskin!!!! :p

 

I know how to treat it before it gets to that point, but I don't know how to fix it. To prevent that from happening is to use a vinyl treatment with UV protection in it.

 

The wheelskin looks nice but I hate how it looks on the edges. I wish they didnt have the holes on these sections or something

 

They really don't look that bad. The feel of them is worth it lol

 

I was lucky enough to NOT need a wheel skin in my Monte, but in my non-leather wheel Grand Am, it was worth it. Cheap to get, easy to put on, custom look, easy clean up, fresh feel.... Need I go on?
