i am assuming when you say "stock" you mean the GMPP STB? i bought the set of two off gmpartsdirect.com for around $33 shipped. i don't have the part number off hand as i am at work but you could get the PN's at don rome's website www.drcustomparts.com

i would get his STB brackets for a nice clean install also.

Just remember that you have the 3.4 when purchasing your STB. You will need a special bar for alternator clearance.

And stock they are black, so you'll have to paint it.

www.drcustomparts.com This guy sells the brackets for the STB (great quality), and also sells some STB's. I am not 100% positive, but I think your Monte (3400) uses the same STB that a 5.3L Monte requires. Both the 3.4L and 5.3L have the alternator in the way, and DRCUSTOMPARTS has an STB that has a "notch" in it for the alternator. He sells it for the 5.3L, but I believe it works for your 3.4L too...You can tell by looking at it that it has the same bend the 3.4L STB's use.

Why its in green, IDK, I just started typing and it was in green....LOL

So this problem with the ALT being in the way, is this true of the 3.9 engines as well?
