It was on the floor board of the back passenger side... im actually hoping that the door drain hole was the problem cause the issues did occur at the same time as the door filling up with water, but ive read a couple things here so its got me curious..

I had a 2002 Monte Carlo and have a 2006 now, both have a sunroof. And both had water in floorboard on passenger side. I have a lot of trees and they cause the drain tubes on each side of the sunroof to plug up every now and then. I blow the drain tubes out with my air compressor every so often and that takes care of the problem.

Default Swimming pool in my car ugh!

After 4 years of dealing with this problem of the rain leaking into the passenger floorboard I am so glad I googled it and found this forum. Thanks to all the other MONTE enthusiasts for solving my problem. It's mind boggling to me that the people who are supposed to know about these things, "Goodwrench" Mechanics, have no clue!
This is my 2nd Monte. The first was a 75 White Monte with a Red Landau top. Bought it for 750 when I was 17 yrs old. She was 10 when I bought her. After totaling my Z28 in 07 I decided it was time for a car that would fit my family better and get a little better gas mileage. 22 years later I buy another White Monte, but this one is an SS and way nicer than my first one.
I bought this car sight unseen (except for pics) from South Carolina and it was sent to my local CarMax.
They have a 30 day warranty but unfortunately for me it did not rain in that time frame. They refused to even look at the car unless I paid them.
If I parked the car on an incline with the front of the car on the downhill slope it was fine. If I parked it on level ground.........kiddie pool on the passenger side. I thought the problem was a leaking windshield, that seemed to be the most logical explanation to me since the water was coming in behind the dash against the firewall. Glad I didnt spend the money for a new windshield. Replacing the filter and making sure all of the seals were matched up right was much cheaper.
Living in Florida really sucks for rain. Now that I'm thinking about what I've read on here I wonder if I bought the one from SC that somebody else was talking about here?
The car was in primo condition at 7 years old with 58,000 miles on it. I wonder if the water leak was the reason they got rid of the car?
Anyway, the cabin air filter not being properly replaced is the most common reason for this. Yes your A/C drain can be plugged, yes the door drain holes can be plugged (that happened to me as well) and yes your doors weatherstripping can be damaged and cause a similar problem. That also happened to me because I used a sharp object to try to unlock the drivers door once when I thought the keys were locked inside. It ripped the tubular weatherstripping that encases the entire door on the BODY of the car. For now I have super glued the piece back into place and that has reduced the volume of water that leaks into it. Not looking forward to pricing that. I'm sure it's ridiculously expensive like anything involving cars but at least I know what the problem is with that!
Now that she's 11 she can finally stay dry! Poor baby. Thanks for the help everybody. Midnight Butterfly 2 and I are VERY APPRECIATIVE!!!!!

P.S. has anyone had a problem with the turn signals acting crazy after discovering their water leak? Every time I have had the floorboard problem the turn signals make a crazy noise like they are shorting out and they blink so fast and so faintly that I've been cussed out for not using them.

That's exactly what happened to mine. I could have went swimming on my passenger side. I figured it was a drain and not the heater core when some little bits of grass and stuff came in with the water.

Sometimes after a rain my passenger door will fill with water. You can hear it slosh around when stopping and starting, LOL. I just drilled a hole in the bottom of the door so it could drip out.

Same thing happened to me about a month ago. It rained really hard for the whole day. I work overnight so my 04 Monte Carlo had been parked all day. I got in the car to go to work and on the passenger side was a huge standing puddle. I didn't have time to really look at anything because I was running late to work. I finally got everything cleaned up the next day with a wet vac. I felt around everything on the way to work. Around the sunroof felt a little damp. Especially around the passenger side area.

It rained really hard yesterday and there was NO problem at all. I don't know what could've happened.

NOW -- though, since the rain yesterday there has been a VERY unusual amount of condensation on my windows. So bad I have to wipe them down before driving or I can't see. What the heck is going on? Anyone know what could be happening?

Please! Help!!
