Special Edition/Nascar Montes

Well, according to CompNine's VIN look up, that car does have the Z4J RPO option code. Making it a genuine Jeff Gordon edition. But according to the North Hollywood, CA DMV the odometer reading is wrong.
It's too bad someone re-painted it. Wrong shade, they got rid of the silver ground effects, and all the decals. Perhaps the owner got the car cheap, wasn't a nascar fan and didn't like all the "redneck stickers" on the car, so they repainted the outside of the car as you see it now. But it seems to me, if you don't like a nascar themed car, you would just look for another one.

Clearly it's an imposter.
What happened (logically) is that the old Monte Carlo was jealous. It beat up an old JG car, stole the vin plate and the CoA.
There we go! Everything is now solved!

Nothing personal against any LS owners. But they made that Jeff Gordon edition look like a base model LS. I like the original Superior Blue Metallic color. Great looking color. Especially with the silver ground effects that came on the car. That powdery blue they covered the car with just makes me want to cry.
Kinda reminds me of the guy (a few years ago) who came to MCF to sell parts from his Intimidator. He bought the car off of craigslist because he wanted a Monte with an L67 that he could convert into a racer. He stripped the entire interior out of the car, installed rollbars and a racing seat inside the car, and offered "the pile of left overs" for anyone who wants buy the stuff. He said didn't care about Earnhardt or the car's collectibility. Just wanted a supercharged Monte that he could tear apart.

back a few years ago, i was looking for a Monte. i wanted a blue one. all the blue ones i came across had the number 24 on em and said Jeff Gordon. i got pissed (around here, people really hate Jeff Gordon) too, im not big into Nascar. but i had decided to buy one and take the decals off. then, i found out theyre collectible and gonna be worth more than me one day. i dont care if your a fan of it or not. if its something rare and or collectible and probably gonna be worth alot of money one day, dont rip it apart. just buy a base LS, and build from there

I dont mind clones as long as they dont pass it off as a real one
When mine is done u wont be able to debadge it unless u repaint it lol, but thats sad that ppl would mess up a special edition
