OK. I have a friend that has an 06 monte SS also. Now we were talking about our car's. When the subject of struts comes up. He got prices for replacing his fronts only and the springs! $ 735.00 installed....HOLY CRAP BATMAN! Are your freaking kidding me. And if he wants them from G.M. Original EQ. The price shoots up to around ( ok sit down) $ 1800.00. That's for just the fronts. so I told him why do you think you need them. He says his M/C rides real rough. Take me for a ride. He's right! Rides like a truck. So we stop and check his air pressure. 42 lbs. . I lower the pressure to 32. Then try it again. Now he say's WOW dude. Is that all that was wrong??? Wants to take me out to lunch or dinner. I told him No thanks glad to help. But the next day I started calling around on those price's. Man O Man he was right. Their freakin NUT's. The kyb's are about $ $450.00 for the fronts. If you guy's need them......YOU Better start saving up your Ca$h now. I also told him to check the tire pressure in the morning before he leaves for work. Just to be safe.

I'd rather have the nice ride. His really rode rough. I thought he might have been right at 1st. But after a 1/2 hr ride around town. Both of us were happy with the results.

I switched over to the FE2 setup from the GXP and it wasn't too expensive.

I got all 4 fronts/rears for my 06 lt which have the same as SS for $320 from rock auto. But i know what you mean. Firestone wanted $800 for all 4. I told them that they weren't going on a Lambo or anything like that and the clerk just laughed.

Holy suspension Batman. Never thought replacing shocks would be as much as a mortgage payment. Sheesh!

Believe me! If it was me. I'd call everyone that has done this or sells the struts for an 06 To get the best prices. OMG! That's just crazy. On my 2006 I run my tires at around 30 to 32 lbs. I like the ride i'm getting. I had a 1993 Super Coupe Thunderbird that had the sports suspension. So I know that they ride harder then the avg car. But the handling is great. Ya know what. I think I'll call around & get prices on them. Just to double check his info. I think he only makes $12 an hr. So he's not made of money. I think he might be getting the highest price they have.
