I was looking through the posts and I didn’t see anything newer than 2021?

I guess that I will delete the site off of my phone if nobody responds to my question.

Weird. There's definitely been a drop off in activity the past few years but it's still fairly active.

Well I might as well ask you all a question. Has anyone changed the rear struts on an 2003 Monte Carlo? I looked at it on YouTube and it didn’t seem to be that hard, does anyone have any insight that would make it easier for me?

I’m guessing a days work for a shade tree mechanic like me.

I have changed rear and front struts on my Monte and other GM cars with the same design structure. But when I do change struts, I used the "quick struts" (a pre-assemble, strut, strut plate and coil spring). It's three fastners on top and two down below. The hardest part I have found is if the lower spline bolts are "stuck" (which I have not had an issue with since the 90's Grand Ams). If they are stuck, an air hammer helps. But any 2000+ GM car I have worked with, a couple good hits with a hammer and they slide right out. I can typically do front struts by myself (but a helper is nice to start the top fastners). The rear struts, I ALWAYS ask for a helper to start the top fastners.

Thanks for the reply. That’s about what I was thinking, one person could do the job, two would make it easier.

It's got to be something weird with your browser/settings. Both of the threads you started in 2022 had several replies including from yourself.

Sometimes some weird stuff happens on the internet, it also depends on the phone you are using. Some of the features on the I-phone I never seen when I used the computer.
Now I switched to a Samsung and it has some features I like much better.
But still active here maybe not as much as I used to be. Used to check it daily and now maybe every 2 days. Good luck with the struts!
