Default Shift button comes out

I know this may sound crazy but the button you press on the shifter has the ability to come out very easily. I got to work this morning and tried to shift into park but the button is nowhere to be found so I had to put my car in neutral to find it. It normally just falls out in the little tray part but this time it made its way under my seat tangled in those little coil things. Long story short is there a way to keep that button in the hole? Idk why I thought of glue but I thought to myself and said I have to push that button in so that wont work lol

buy a new shifter ****, the button is just probably broken. Put the car in a low gear for room, pull off the shift boot (just pull down) and use a very small screwdriver to pop off the "staple" that holds the **** on.

Chibi and I can refer you to a guy who can upgrade you to a leather **** from the Bonnevilles (but it has a gray push button instead of black). Hit this guy up if you want to go down that road:

Nope, it's very easy to pop it off. The boot has like a rubber band that holds it to the ****.

Very easy replacement though. The leather upgrade is nice
