SC type whine while accelerating uphill

When I accelerate while going uphill in my 97 z34, my engine whines and sounds exactly like it is supercharged. Why could it be doing that? It doesnt do it unless I am going uphill.

To me it sounds like the transmission. How many miles do you have on her? What do you guys think

i've known alternators to make a lot of noise at times.. i dunno

Had a buick with a 3.8 liter, front wheel drive...same nise and u guessed it....blew the tranny!

Hey Blazzer, about how many more miles did you get from when you heard the noise until the tranny blew?
