7th Gen ('06-'07): Rim and Tire help Needed!
Just bought my first Monte (07 SS) . I figured since the car is in need of new tires, it would be a sweet time to just do an upgrade from the stock 18x7 rim to the 18x7.5 or 18x8
Is this an easy bolt on situation or are spacers needed all around ? ( I would prefer to stay away from spacers if I can)
Also, what size tires would you think are a great fit for the 18x7.5 or 18x8? giving it a beefy look without having strut rub or fender rub issues.
Lastly, Recommended diameter ?
New to the Monte Carlo world and greatly appreciate any info or help.

I've run everything from a 15" to a 20" on wbodys, and 18"s are what I run on my last remaining wbody (and coincidentally what was on my last W too).

Seriously wow, thank you for all this info. It helped answer questions I didn't even get to add into the original post. A tire size of 235 - 245 puts me in a nice size market to shop.
Also, I'm just planning on building a nice, quick - bolt on build, that I can drive daily. Maybe later down the road get into adjustable suspension.
So basically, I need to check the backspacing to be clear of any strut rub.
Is there a recommended measurement or number?
I only ask because I'm considering these two at the moment.

Super grateful for the help

I was thinking about buying a set of 18" Redline wheels from an Equinox or something to put on my car because I thought the red/black would look good, and it'd be all in the Chevy family.... The site I was shopping on said that they would not fit my car. I believe my factory wheels are 18X7s and these were 18X7.5s. I thought it would work... I didn't want to spend that much money only to find out that, as usual, I was wrong...
