If you can fit a 245 on the stock rim you would want to go 55 for the tire height to keep the overall size the same and your speedo the same.

If you went 245/50/16 the speedo would be off by like 3%

But I think 245 might be a little too wide on the stock rim.

That's the stock height, he wants more rubber on the road, a wider tire.

Ya, I just wanted to say cause you had said 55 in your other post..

I think 235 60. If he wanted 245 a 55 might not get tire rub but IDK about that.

When you go wider you have to go shorter to keep the overall dimensions of the tire the same for the speedo.

If he went 235/60/16 his speedo would actually be wrong, but it wouldn't be as bad as 245/60/16. I think it's almost 2% off at the 235/60.

The 245/60 would be almost 4% wrong on the speedo.

I didnt know the width did too.. I thought it was just the overall diameter affected.

Common misconception. The second number is a percentage of the first.

225/60/16 doesn't mean the sidewall is 60mm, it means the sidewall is 60% of 225. So when you go wider, the % makes the actual tire size change.

as a note I have 245/50s on my car. They look cool, but remember with shorter side wall you loose just a little ride quality, but they do look better than stockers. Mine wore out prematurely but that's my fault for not getting an alignment and not rotating more but they were directional (PITA).
