This week I visited a U Pull it yard and found a Monte Carlo that once belonged to a friend of mine and his son. They sold it back in 2017 and after several owners it ended up in the U-pull it as a wreck. Before photo.s and after photo's

So sad. I was almost going to ask, how do you know this was the same Monte (the flames were removed). But what are the odds it would have the same wheels and the 6th gen badging.... So sad that in 2017 it was a sharp car and now, two years later a wreck in the junk yard.
Yeah I did a double take and again just to make sure.

Yeah I know I was looking online and they had this car show up in the inventory so I thought I needed to stop to see what I could salvage from it. when I found it I looked it over and I rescued the spoiler from it. I kept looking at it and thought I should know this car the give away was the Monte Carlo on the quarter and the Cragers on the drivers side.
I took a bunch of photo's and called my friend who owned it and the call started out I got some bad news for you! He asked what happened and I told him showed him the photo's and he was a bit sad.
It had about 75K on it when he sold it and now had 97K on it.
He called me years ago about the 72 Chevelle I owned and told me it had been totaled out by the kid who bought it.
In 1970 when he bought the 1970 Chevelle SS that he still owns, we looked at a bunch of them and he asked me to drive it the 75 miles Home. Wow I was really Honored. Without his friendship I wouldn't be the Car nut I am today after all these years.
Its a fun and sometimes necessary hobby.
wow. I've repaired far worse wrecks in my home garage. its crazy that they didnt have it rebuilt. even if totaled. the insurance company will ALWAYS allow you to buy back a car and write you a check and the title will stay clean. its a shame that they didn't want to rebuild this machine.
