i would check to see if the threaded insert in the battery are loose from the lead attached to the casing of the battery. if its the original silver topped acdelco battery they corrode from behind and it causes a major high resistance making no amps get through but a normal voltage will still show. grab the cables and wiggle them semi rough and see if its loose in the battery.

if passlock is acting up its no suprise, try leaving the key in the on/run position for 10 minutes and wait to see if the theft light goes out try starting then.

my money would be on bad battery terminal from what you said was happnin.

Alright guys and gals, here is an update on my 05 SS... Mom got a call from the dealer today with the bad news.

They replaced a Bad battery *$240 + Tax

Problems that exist
...I need new wheel bearings and harnesses on both sides. They are good but NOT FOR LONG! *$999 + Tax

... This next one is a WE DON'T KNOW for sure problem
... before they put the new battery in, some code was being sent to the transmission that would stop the mode switch from swithcing gears. They said the new battery may fix it but if not its upwards of $1,800 to fix it...

I am trying to shop around for new wheel bearings and harnesses, and I will have some repair shop install them. I tried GM Parts Direct, but not quite sure on what part exactly... any help is appreciated!

Sorry for the length.

EDIT: My ABS light will be on untill I get my bearings and harnessed fixed

Did they really charge you labor to hook up the battery what? Autozone will do it for free! haha I would never pay labor for that! and if its labor for hooking up the machine thats crazy too. Some shops will do that for free! Why do peopl take their cars to dealers? i can understand if it was under warranty thats about all dealerships are good for after your warranty expires they arnt worth a crap!

And Im not trying to offend you captain damnit Im talking about people over

Trust me I WOULD'T have sent it to the dealer, but this was a big problem that I REALLY needed to get fixed.... So, now that I know what needs to be fixed, Ill buy my own parts and have someone install them.
