If I recall that harness was stupid pricey and all it really had different was LONG cables for power, ground, car network and an extra connector just to relocate the radio. When I first got my 2004 Monte, I was originally going to swap for a MP3 aftermarket radio (something I have done in other cars I had earlier). When I dug into things, I did not like loosing the convenient controls to reset oil life monitor, tire pressure monitor and key fob programming plus having to get another module for the door chime. OR to relocate the radio (if I am putting in an aftermarket radio, I want the factory one GONE). As mentioned, the install gear to mess with this was around double the cost for the type of radios I was looking at (and I would have done the install myself) and it was a turn off.
To get what I want, I found GM made a MP3 radio for the Cavalier and Venture Van that works in the Monte. This solved my needs/wants.
