Justin, what kind of prep will you be doing before you apply the clear coat? I'm at the same stage with my bumper project. I just sprayed the color and will let it dry overnight.

I was planning either doing just a quick 2000 grit wetsand then wash off with water with lint free rag dry then shoot the clear or just skip the wetsand and just wipedown with water, dry paint probably skip the wet sand and just clean and shoot it

I'll be doing 3-4 light coats clear let dry overnight, wet sand, 3-4 light coats let dry overnight, wet sand thendepending on how much paint I have left maybe one more of the 3-4 light coats clear wet sand then cut and buff to bring out the shine!

That's a lot of coats! I wonder if I should try and stick with few coats as my bumper is 'flexable' and the thick paint after many coats may lead to cracking easier?

Let me know how it works out

I can't help it, more coats = more protection! But that's a big reason I'm wet sanding soo many time is becuase the more paint you add the more the defects in the paint will become more noticiable

Yes more paint will be more likely to crack
