Painting my engine cover! flags are done! 4/9
Since I have the design hammered out it's a go! This is going to be a verry long process....
Here is what I will be doing
It may vary a little bit in the end but that's what I'm looking to do.
I wet sanded the cover to make it nice and smooth the other night
Starting with four light coats of black, wet sanding then 4 more light coats of black,
Then i'll tape it off do the silver which some will get multiple coats some will only get 1 or 2 becuase I want the fade affect like the flags on the car.
Then then i'll hit it with multple light coats of clearcoat, wetsand more coats wet sand and buff

Here is a shot of it after 2 coats, too dark to take pics now but got them done before all I had was my crap garage lighting
You can see my home made down draft table some old speakers, box fan and a old sheet forks great to keep the overspray at bay
