Question Onstar ?

Just got an01 Monte SS with 68,000 miles on her. It has Onstar in it, and my questions are:

What would I have to do to activate it?

What might it cost to do so?

Is the feature worth the cost?

We plan on traveling some with the car and it seems would come in handy. What do you folks think?

It costs about 300 per year
I thought it was too expensive so I declined. They called with a better offer.
I bought OnStar minutes for traveling because it includes long distance.
To activate, press the blue button

It might not work in your car, i dont remember when, but onstar switched from analog to digital signals, and if you have the old system it wont work.

When I bought my 2002 I had to get it converted from analog to digital. It was over $100 from what I remember. I also believe that they told me 2002 was as far back as the conversion would work. So your 2001 may not be able to be switched over.
