Yeah, I guess I did overlook that engine but the base model GTs only rated 260hp when the Z28 had 305-310. It would have been nice though if Ford would have used that engine in the 05-10 GT's.

Just to clerify something too, did you dyno your Mustang or are you talking about the factory rating? If you're talking about the factory rating then that Cobra didn't produce 320 at the wheels but it did at the crank.

I still think that Ford did a good job on the new 5.0. I'm not a fan of DOHC's, but it still has excellent power for its size.

Doh, ment the crank. Im sure sitting around that at the crank hp again, my cars getting pretty old so power loss is probably weighed out by my minor mods.

as for the 05-10 GTs, the 3v engine isnt a bad platform (compared to the 99-04 GT's that used a 2v). 2v<3v<4v< newer 5.0 now, also remember that the 4v engine will produce more HP mod for mod then the others, but its expensive as HELL to work on. I love my 4v, only because of the awesome sound I have it at now. But, I wouldnt mind the bump to the newer 5.0 engine.

btw, a camaro will beat almost all mustangs, mod for mod, as long as the base models are equivalent. (ss vs GT, ect.) 03/04 cobras have an advantage since chevy stopped production in 02 on them, so well ignore those models. haha
