Glad to hear you got a new job. Where did you get the hood struts from? Are they universal?

yeah they universal. the 84-01 xj never came with hood shocks support. i bought off a member from the cherokee forum. he put the kit together. there is company like rugged ridge who make the kits but they they pretty pricey. i saw other members used hood support off a 92-94 infinity Q45 or the xj hatch door support too, but the length of the shock support on those are too long for my liking. the one on my xj are shorter and mounting brackets are lot heavy duty. i thought about do my own kit but don't know where to get the mounting brackets. i already look at home depot and menards but didn't see any of those mounting brackets.

the od green xj-forumrunner_20140501_061442.jpg

Its at the local pick n pull. Start runs drives. Had tensioner pulley lock up and broke belt. Did not over heat. Just needs those two parts. Its rwd but still seems like a dang good price. I cant remembered the year but it is the 4.0

that's good price looks like a '96 and earlier model. i would give them your lowest offer first like $700 to start and and see how far they go down. check for rust on floor board, rocker panels, and every where else. then throw your offer at them. you can convert the 2wd to 4wd.

If it checks out you should defiantly buy it and save the monte from daily driving it.
