painted my cherokee last night with rustoleum spray can. took the whole day sanding clear coat off and bondo rust holes. im digging the new look. rock auto rocker panels came today. should get floor panels and lower section quarter panels following weeks then will be looking for 4.5" lift. im going to try to stay in budget so i can have money for the t/a parts.

first day i got. i didn't realize how bad the rust were til i got home. was planning to drive in winter and sell it. from the look of it now im going to keep it for my pleasure. for some reason there's a side of me telling me to fix it and keept it. look at them god awful wheels looks like they belong to a honda



went to the jy and found some rust free fenders and found primer doors from another jeep member i wheeled with. bought the factory wheels from the p.o. i was so pissed that i saw he listed on craigslist. he should of gave to me the first place when i bought the xj.



spotted my 01 xj in the 'burb



sold them ricer rims on craigslist for nice loot. man im glad there's somebody out there likes them.



went to menard and bout 6 cans of camo spray cans, bedliner, and sand papers.



was filling rust holes and lots of sanding. i never paint the whole car/suv before. figured this be a perfect time to practice.




here's the finish look. there's some over sprayed and paint run. it's was good practice tho. might re-do the couple spots where's some paint run. it's mostly on the fender flares.

 

It looks good, i like how the color looks on the jeep.

 

Looks like a good winter ride.

 

waiting for black friday sale to kick off on lift kit. i kinda want rough country 6.5" kit if there's a good deal other wise the 3.5" or 4.5" kit would be my option. in the mean time i did place an order on speed inc. TU1.5 cam for the T/A. they said it be about 2 weeks for delivery cuz of the holiday.

i been shopping around for another xj. always wanted a 2 doors. found this '00 the seller offer was my xj plus $1400 cash. i was trying to buy the xj out right from him but his bottom price was $2800 which was more than what i want to spend had to pass on that. it needs some work and floor board was rusted through and he won't come down.

 

found this '93 on south side of chicago, wow this probably the cleanest xj i ever see. for it being 20 year old it's in better condition by far than my '92. no rust with only 74k original miles with new tranismission and transfer case. sell askinging for $2600 and his bottom price is $1900. xmas is around the corner maybe he will come down more on his price.

 

Looks very military-esque. Which is perfect for a jeep.

Just paint a serial # on the fender using stencils, and you're all set.

 

i was thinking of putting a white star on the front doors, but guess that won't happen cuz i lost interest modding the jeep. i just dump about $3k on the t/a. speed inc turbo cam and precision stall converter just show up. A2A intercooler is on order. and $1500 wire to triple edge for 4l80e trans rebuild.

 

so i thought i would get out of the jeep hobby for awhile guess not it's addicting.
pick up a '98 today for $1k. i think i got a good deal. just need front bumper and hood cable latch. not worry on the bumper going to get Ares fab (local vendor) bumper anyway and the cable at the jy. solid body no rust on floor board or rocker panels i was surprise that was first thing i look at lol.






i just pull off all these yuppie ant-stickers. now i just need to vacuum the seats up. got dog hair every where.

 

That's not a bad looking jeep for only a grand, wish i could find something like that.
