scored this over head console at the jy yesterday. i snugged in the fenced area where they still processing the in coming vehicles well the gate was open not my fault. i had to unscrew the 2 screws off real quick and get out. didn't get the the wire harness and mounting bracket. going to have to wait til they bring the xj out and hopefully nobody take the harness or bracket. more likely nobody will cuz there won't be any ohc lol. i paid $12 for the console. if some of you who go to the jy and see this ohc grab it cuz xj guys will pay good money for them. this the 6th ohc i found and sold 5 each for $175 shipped that's with wire harness and mounting bracket. they only came in '98-01 classic or limited edition. grand cherokee zj and earlier xj came with over head console too but they not same as the 98-01. wire harness is different. the mounting tab on the ohc slide off the mounting bracket so be careful not to break off the tab. the mounting bracket can be pry off with big flat head screwdriver or pry bar to pop off the rivalets don't worry about bending it cuz they can be straighten back up. don't cut the wire harness. unplug from the ohc, sun visors and disconnect from the passenger side lower kick panel below the glove box. you might need a pry bar to snake the wire connectors out after disconnect. it's pretty easy. happy hunting

 

burn $260 in my pocket today but it was worth it. the po rear end somebody from the back and flatten out the middle part of the bumper and bent the bumper brackets. they were crunch up like tin foil. at first i thought it be easy fix but turn out it wasn't cuz the bracket that mount to frame was slightly pushed in and look pretty hard to fix. the body shop pulled got the brackets off which i prob would not able to get the bolt off myself cuz of the brackets crunch up. they then heated up the bumper core support and bang out the dent. front end looks so much better now. i will have to visit the jy to find a driver's side bumper end cap and repaint it.

before: you can see how far the bumper was pushed in. i had no front end protection at all.

i found this piece at the jy last year. it came off an old pioneer xj. think it was a '87. i don't know what the heck it is but this give me idea what im going to do with it.

i still have lot of room in the back cargo area and im going to make them useful to store my stuff.

this cubby hole is where lot of jeep guys cut a hole and install a sub woofer in. im not much of a sound person.

i like this idea tho.


going to order this gun rack from amazon. they going to be install in the back side window for my fishing rods. going fishing trip in may.

 

Man you just don't let up, I love the way you think with the storage mods and such. Pretty damn trick. You deserve to be a Jeep owner, they tend to be the MacGyver types.

been busy today at the jy everything was 50% off i couldn't miss that opportunity. i scored lot of good parts. i didn't have no luck finding driver's side zj seat. they either cloth, torn up or someone took it already. i found nice condition wj front seats (99-04 grand cherokee). im just going to do the wj seats up front and leave the zj seats in the back. they look pretty close up match plus im tired of searching for zj driver seat lol. got over head console with a wire harness and mount bracket. i can sell console on the cherokee forum easy for $150-$175 shipped. i sold plenty of them and i know for sure i will sell it easy. also pick up front bumper end cap and fender flare brackets mine broked and held by only couple bolts. xj limited edition wood grain radio/hvac bezel. the bezel is pretty hard to find too. the best scored of the day was a '85 dodge lebaron turbo hood vents (85-86 turbo lebaron and new yorker). i couldn't believe i found it and nobody nabbed them. these are probably the most popular vents on xj. two years ago i found a set off a '85 new yorker and that was really lucky too. got all those parts for $80 out the door oh and the lebaron hood vents were free no i didn't hid it in my coat lol. they were on the bottom of the wheel barrel and the seats were on top. i forgot all about it too til i got to my jeep and start unloading lol.




updated the bezel already gone to another xj. made a barter earlier with another xj owner. last week i bought the tires off him $100. i only gave him $50 and was going to repaid him later. i text him parts i found at the jy and he really likes the wood grain bezel and wants it in his jeep. i told him i give to him and we call even on the $50 i owe him. well it was a done deal and save me $50.

 

Those are some good looking seats. You always have such good luck when you go to junk yard. Can you send some of that luck my way when I go.

 

i guess it's being at the right place and right time. i have another deal doing on too. it will be a big profit for me whether i sell it or flip it. you going to have to wait til tomorrow to find out.

 

Dude! I need to get my jeep! Im getting so anxious and im just sitting here watching all the fun your having. My deal with the torino fell through so now iv got more money that and I can put twords a nice jeep.

 

you gotta get a jeep man. it's a fun dd. you can drive it every day and any where rain or shine. take it to a camping/fishing trip. good year to get is 97-99, stay away from 00-01 they prone to have cracked head if over heat or what ever. what ever mod you do to it it's still look cool lol
