You have me confused to all hell with what's going on with these photo contests right now and I'm not confused easily. November's contest appears like it's been up for a while and I never noticed it til this morning. October has also been up for a while and I was going with that one all along since it was October. Odd that there's two contests open at the same time. My picture here would have been better placed in November's contest.

 

back in August or September I posted the October and November contests gave the themes and all I thought most everyone saw them by now. Sometimes I think this Forum hides stuff. I will often have to hunt it down to find it. I usually try to put a link in the Monthly that we do to help promote it.
The one suggestion that juniorcar had was to use the General Monte Carlo talk instead of (OFF topic) the idea would be more folks might see it and it is about Monte Carlo's in photo's. So that could be why this is showing up now for you. Sorry for any confusion I still think much of it has to do with the way this forum works?? So kind of glitch or algorithm thing maybe?
Run your photo again in November and it will be an obvious hit on both months! Great shot for sure.
