I joined just to be eligible to attend the Monte Nationals. It was nice, they side a club magazine (I don't remember if it was two or four times a year). The magazine is basically 8x11paper folded like a book, but nicely done with color pictures.
I only stayed a member the one year. For the annual dues, I just did not feel I got enough out of it to be worth my while. One big car show once a year and a magazine every so often. In contrast (and it's a larger niche), I am still a member of the NEOCC (North Eastern Camaro Club). Annual dues are a lot less, I get a monthly newsletter which includes as much or more content then the NMCOA magazine (NEOCC packs classifieds, a couple sponsored ads, car shows NEOCC is involved in, reminder and meeting minutes from the monthly meetings and a bunch of other Camaro related stuff). Again, different car, bigger group for the Camaro then the Monte.
I don't have anything bad to say about the NMCOA. I just felt for my Monte needs, I get more here on MCF.com for free then I did in the NMCOA.
I believe other members here, such as Tadd and Amy are still actively enrolled members to the NMCOA. I'm sure they can offer a different point of view.
