new owner of a 2006 ss
hey guys. im back from my flooding incident from 2 months ago. just got my 06 ss this past saturday and i LOVE it!!!!!! way better than the 3400 i had in my 05. few questions though. i wanted a cold air intake but im not too sure which one to get. they have so many. i specifically want a k and n. its really more for looks than performance. which model specifically should i get? i also want flowmasters. i want the old school rumble and growl to it. which series would you guys recommend? thanks.

heavy chevy i just thought i'd throw the muffler thread your way, not a recommendation, but it is a nice set-up for the money, i think, in my mind!

I also have the cold air inductions intake and it works great! i would say it's better than the k&n since it's a fully enclosed box, looks better, and it's about the same price. check out my pics on my profile to see what it looks like.
as far as exhaust, lots of ppl have flowmaster 40 series as stated above. a good aggressive sound but if you want a more mellow sound, but still a good rumble magnaflows are a popular choice. i got mine for $60 each on a make offer deal on ebay. not bad for two name brand, stainless mufflers. good luck and welcome to the forum!

I also have the Cold Air Inductions CAI. IMO its better than the K&N for both looks and performance. Its and all aluminum box, with clear windows so you can see the filter. Looks great, and is probably better for performance because its a completly sealed box!

I went with Summit Race Mufflers and love the sound. It has gotten louder/better since first installing them. I actually should take another video. I'll eventually be getting myself a K&N intake system as well. There are a lot of places that sell them, but price wise, ebay is the cheapest. Unless you find a used one one ls1tech.com that is.

u could also just take the mufflers off and have an exhaust shop just add tubing. i wound up doing this after doing the magnaflow catback cause it wasnt loud enough for me. with the factory resonator and tubing in it would probably be quieter then mine is now. but itll still be loud. the classic flowmaster sound is the 40 series. the deltas cut down the interior resonance. 50s will be a little quieter. on the cold air topic im running the k&n. i like it but its pricey. heres a link to my exhaust thread.
